The Vintage Whites Fair

Hello Bloglandia!

It has been a while since my last post, but I have been super busy working on new projects!
On March 8, 2014 I was lucky enough to be apart of the Vintage Whites Market. It was such a neat experience! I was able to sell some pieces and network with other wonderful, unique artists like myself.
I spent months creating and building product. It was a blast!

This was my booth for the Vintage Whites Market. Doesn't it just look homey and inviting?! I had many people comment on how creative my pieces were. It was so great to hear that! I wasn't sure people would enjoy my take on mixed media art. The pictures below are examples of what I displayed and sold. Take a look and ENJOY!

I made many of these quilt and linen collages. With squares of quilts or vintage linens, I place everyday objects in whatever order or fashion that tickled my fancy. I am a wild child with art!

With these gems, I took vintage plates and metal triangles and put on groovy hooks and nobs and turned these plates into wall decor to hang quilt collages (above) or anything else that you want to display in a unique, different way!
I just love making my own frames (yep these babies are homemade) and putting things together to preserve memories and other vintage items. The picture on the top left is made from a Charlotte Bronte book, "Jane Eyre". The other pictures have vintage items such as tickets, pages from books, etc.
Now these two items are very special to me. The top is a shelf that I made with old wood, it was inspired by another object in my home. The other is a pie safe that I also made myself. I have made a few of these before. I love making them, but they are a pain to make. Again, I love slapping on vintage hardware and other objects to spice up my pieces.

The two pieces on top are jello mold containers under an old pan. These can be used for holding a candle, candies or whatever your little heart desires!
The piece on the bottom is just like the jello mold containers, but instead of holding something, this can go on a wall or sit on that coffee table that is missing a certain something.

As you can see, my art is unique, creative and sometimes a little out of the ordinary. But that is what I enjoy about making my own pieces. There are no limits to what I can do or what I can use to preserve memories, or just spicing up the decor in my home!
Until next time bloggers, keep it interesting and don't be afraid to be creative!
