Hey Blogger Land,
It is a sunny and beautiful day along the Wasatch Front!! I think spring has finally arrived!
My tulips and crocus are starting to sent shoots of green through the brown that was left by
the snow and cold. But, being in Utah, I know it will still snow again, so I will enjoy today and
one of my favorite new mediums, Faber-Castell Gelatos! These little wonders of color are
so awesome!!! They blend like butta, but they are water soluable!!! They can be used for
watercoloring and you can make your own misters with them. Just cut a little piece off and put
into a Mini Mister by Ranger, add water, shake to mix and viola!!!! Misting Heaven!!! Add
some Pearl-Ex and you have a Glimmer Mist!! Oh, the joy....I'm so worked up I think I will go
stand in a cold shower!!! The glories or creating art!!!
This piece was made with Gelatos,  I named her Bubbe. Bubbe is Yidish for Grandma. I thought
she looked like a Bubbe who would offer you Matzo Ball soup and tell you that "it wouldn't kill
you to call her once in a while." Enjoy!

Hey Blogotopia! It's cloudy and cold, but all is well! I have a Diet Dr. Pepper and I am surrounded
by colorful art supplies! My new obsession is Washi Tape. Those delightful rolls of colorful, sticky
goodness!! They go anywhere, on anything! Scrap booking, collage, wrapping a gift, you name it!
You can make flowers, banners, rosettes, colorful stripes, shapes, frames for pictures,...the list goes on
and on!!! The picture featured in this post was a Washi Tape fun fest. Stitching, alcohol inks, rub ons,
and a wood burning tool add to the fun and layers of this project!!!
So, go out and buy a ton of the gloriousness that is Washi Tape and have creative ball!!!!
Thanks for stopping by, Becci

The sun is shining and it is a balmy 40 degrees! I am slowly thawing out from the three weeks of below 20 degrees! Is anybody gonna offer me some cheese to go with my whine?
Well, today I have been playing with beeswax. Burned myself only twice. I bought Claudine Hellmuth's
book Collage Discovery Workshop a few years ago and thought I would experiment with Technique 1
in chapter 3, Having Fun with Beeswax! This chapter is about "painting" with the beeswax and using
acetone to make transfers. I found that when the substrate is firm  the transfer works better and turns out
sharper. I tried the first attempt on a stretched canvas. Needless to say it is now in the file "C" for crap!!!!!
I think the second attempt worked out pretty well. What do you think?
Buy Claudine Hellmuth's book and experiment with beeswax you will have fun and tell me about your
"creative beeswax journey"! Have fun and thanks for looking! Becci

It's snowing..........again! Thankfully my neighbor shoveled my drive-way and walks.
I have great neighbors. Which brings me to this weeks post. St. Valentine's  Day.
I think we could all use a little more love in our lives. Giving and receiving. A gal in my
neck of the woods spends almost every waking hour of her life feeding the hungry
and homeless of Ogden, Utah through her organization called Love Soup. Every Wednesday
she and her hubby take four gigantic pots of soup to the Genesis Project food bank and
feed the people who are desperately in need of a hot meal and comfort. You are my hero
Cindy. If you would like to contribute time or financially please go to LoveSoup.net.

Please enjoy the goodies I have made for this post. I hope they make your heart warm and your face smile! Thanks for looking! Becci

It's cold here across the Wasatch Front!! So, what do I do? Drink a super cold
Diet Dr. Pepper, and buy Golden paint! Can a girl have too much paint or Diet Dr. Pepper?
I think not!! So I am off to use my new paint and drink more Diet DR. Pepper and
put on a good movie for inspiration!!! I hope you enjoy the new post!!! Becci

The title of this piece is "Always". For me, this invokes the work and also the beauty of making
and sharing and enduring a life with the person you love.

This piece is titled "Moo". My favorite time in my life, growing up, was on my Grandma's farm.
I could roam, breath, and be myself. Exploring the barns, and outbuildings, and corrals was heaven!

I titled this piece "Grandma's Wall". I love old homes. I used plaster as the background. The cracks
and texture reminds me of  the plaster walls in older homes. The plaster takes paint and other
medium very well, and when sanded it takes on a time worn look! Tim Holtz Frosted Film was used
to cover the piece when it was finished to give it a soft ethereal look.

Art.....it makes me happy! It's therapy! I love art
supplies. Especially paper, any kind of paper. Old paper
is best. The patina, the feel, even the smell. One of my
favorite things to do is going to the art store and staring
at all the colors of paint, pastels, pencils, markers, and
ink.

I have been creating art since I was young. Sitting at the
table and drawing horses, dogs, and making things for
Halloween are some of my fondest memories.

I have posted a few things that I have made. I hope you
enjoy them as much as I do.

Thanks for dropping by for a look.
